Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you begin

Does GEMO guarantee a visa, admission or a contract?

No. We help you organize your project and prepare applications. Institutions decide on admission, employers on contracts and authorities on visas. A complete file, a payment or a completed stage never guarantees approval.

How do I request a consultation and know that it is confirmed?

Complete the form with your destination, project, contact details and preferred time. Mention your availability and time zone where necessary. Submitting the form is a request: wait for GEMO’s confirmation email before treating the appointment as accepted or making a payment.

How much is the consultation and when should I pay?

The displayed consultation fee is €75. Pay only after your appointment is confirmed by email, following the instructions received. Institution, translation, examination, visa, insurance and travel costs are separate and are not covered by the consultation payment.

How can I pay using Orange Money or MTN Mobile Money?

The accounts appear in the Consultation section and payment instructions are provided with confirmation. Check the number and recipient’s name before transferring funds. For a payment in CFA francs, ask GEMO to confirm the amount and any fees. Keep the transaction reference and receipt for verification.

Can I discuss several projects during one consultation?

Yes. Select your main project in the form and describe the others in your message. Prepare your questions in order of priority. If your requests concern several people or require separate assessments, contact GEMO to clarify the arrangements and services before booking.

Which documents should I prepare for the first discussion?

If available, prepare your CV, diplomas, transcripts, language certificates and details of your background. Mention any admission, contract or procedure already underway. This is a starting point: the official document checklist depends on the country and procedure.

Is GEMO a law firm or an authorized Canadian representative?

No. GEMO is not a law firm and does not claim to be an authorized Canadian representative. We provide general information and organizational support. Paid Canadian immigration advice and representation require authorized professionals; we do not choose or submit an immigration application on your behalf.

What is the difference between university studies and Ausbildung in Germany?

University studies follow an academic course leading to a degree. Ausbildung prepares you for an occupation through school-based training or a combination of school and company training. Applications, documents and schedules differ. Select your intended route in your account so that tracking reflects admission or a training contract.

What language level do I need for Germany?

The level depends on your project, institution and applicable requirements. B1 is generally expected for Ausbildung; some routes require more. For university studies, check the programme language and accepted certificates. Studying in English does not automatically remove all other requirements.

How should I prepare an Au pair or family reunification project?

For Au pair, prepare your personal details, language level and childcare experience; check the requirements and agreement with the host family. For family reunification, gather information about family relationships and the person already living there. Consult the official requirements for your situation before proceeding.

How do Canadian study permits, work permits and visitor visas differ?

They serve different purposes: studying, working or visiting. School admission is not permission to stay, and a visitor visa does not automatically replace a work or study permit. Consult IRCC for the precise conditions; individual eligibility questions should be addressed to an authorized professional.

How long does admission, a contract or a visa take?

There is no single timeline. Intake dates, replies from institutions or employers, appointment availability and administrative processing can vary. Check the timelines published by the relevant organizations. GEMO cannot guarantee or speed up an official decision: plan ahead before committing to expenses.

How can I track my file in the candidate area?

Create an account, select your destination and procedure, then sign in to the candidate area. Tracking shows the stages of your selected route and GEMO’s updates. It is an internal tracking tool: official confirmations come from institutions, employers or authorities, not simply from a status change.

How can I send, download or remove a document?

Use Documents in your candidate area. Accepted formats are PDF, JPG and PNG, up to 10 MB per file. You can download documents sent by GEMO and remove files from your area. Removing a file from your area leaves a copy with GEMO; contact the team to request complete deletion.

What if my appointment is declined or I need another time?

If your request is declined, select another date or time and submit a new request. If an appointment is already confirmed, contact GEMO with your name, email and appointment details. Read the consultation terms for changes and cancellations; the team must confirm any new time.

Can I communicate in French, English or German?

Yes. The website supports these three languages and you can select your preferred consultation language in the form. Prepare your questions and mention if you need help understanding a document. Your language of communication with GEMO does not replace a certificate required by a school or authority.

How do I recover access if I forget my password?

On the Sign in page, use the password recovery link with your account’s email address. Follow the instructions received and check your spam folder. Do not create a second account to work around access difficulties: contact GEMO if recovery fails.

Does GEMO cover accommodation, flights and settling in?

We can help you organize departure preparation and identify points to check. Accommodation, flights, insurance or settling-in services are included only when expressly agreed. Check the provider’s terms and the necessary authorizations before paying or booking.
